I have arthritis in both hands. I cannot peel veg with or without an aid. I cannot lift a saucepan or carry anything as heavy as a saucepan. I cannot lift a kettle. I am constantly in pain.
Do you. Have to have a walking problem to apply?

Hi @Gwendoline
PIP has two parts:
- daily living component - for people who need help to take part in everyday life
- mobility component - for people who find it hard to get around
You can do a PIP self test here to score yourself for the daily living and mobility components of PIP. It will do the maths for you, tell you what components you assess yourself as qualifying for and what rates you assess yourself as being eligible for.
