Going on to state pension and pension credits. Advice needed re housing benefit

I'm moving over to the state pension with pension credits at the end of this month.
No one has said about council tax and housing benefits. Does my claim carry on or do I have to make a new claim? if so how do I do that?
For anyone coming up to pension age. do not fear either form for pension or pension credits. they were very easy and stress-free.

If you're already claiming housing benefit then you don't need to make a new claim. You will need to report the changes to your local Authority and they will both be recalculated. If you're entitled to Pension Credit then you'll be entitled to full HB and CTR.1

Not sure I had to make a new claim with the local authority for housing benefit when moving from uc to pension credit. You put in your housing costs on the pension credit form. They pass thst to your local council then send you a form for a new claim. You bypass the financial checks as you are claiming pension credit and you just need to show them the tenancy agreement.

If you have given the award already for guaranteed pension credit I wouid suggest you phone the housing benefit department of your local council up to see what the situation is.

Thank you Paul but Poppy was spot on in this case. I just had to notify them of a change of circumstances and send proof.Paul1957 said:Not sure I had to make a new claim with the local authority for housing benefit when moving from uc to pension credit. That's good. I recently moved and filled out a new claim when I only needed to do a change of address form. I always over complicate thingsKizzie58 said:

The reason why you had to make a new claim for Housing benefit is because you were claiming UC before you reached state pension age, this would have included help with your rent known as housing element. Once you reached this age UC would have ended, which would have meant a claim for HB was needed for help with your rent.Paul1957 said:Not sure I had to make a new claim with the local authority for housing benefit when moving from uc to pension credit.0 -
