More information is needed before I can advise you. Does her PIP include the daily living part?

Are there any adults living with you? If so are they either registered blind or do they claim a qualifying disability benefit their self, such as PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care or AA?

Who's the main claimant of the ESA claim?

Thank you, that helps. The reason I asked that was because of the Severe Disability Premium but because your son lives at home you won’t be entitled to that unless he claims a qualifying disability benefit himself.

Yes, you can claim carers allowance for looking after your wife. The quickest way to claim is online. If her PIP was awarded within the last 3 months then you can ask for it to be backdated to the start of your claim. Your weekly income will increase by £42.75/week.
