Feeling unsupported by my care agency

Hello Everyone,
I am a live-in carer. I am just here to have a look around and read some posts at the moment.
I have been doing care work for just over one year professionally. The majority of the care work I love but yesterday I came back from a placement that was out in the middle of nowhere with the lady showing signs of extreme agitation, screaming and verbal threats to myself and the districts nurses. My manager had asked me not to call the police or the ambulance. So I feel unsupported by my care agency and I am interested in reading and learning about everyone else's experiences as well.

Hi @Emma4040 and welcome to the community!
That sounds like a difficult situation to find yourself in. Do you feel able to tell us why your manager discouraged you from calling?1 -
National minimum wage has been raised so its not only about the finances, its about staying ahead with the skills required to become a skilled live in carer.
ALL, employers should be making sure that all there workers are not being stressed out by work.0
