Mandatory reconsideration denied. what to do now

Hi I had my pip review in December 23 got a letter in Jan saying I only scored two points after previously got 12 points. I did a mandatory reconsideration   got letter back saying I cant be awarded pip this time which is totally ridiculous as things have got worse  I'm really upset don't know what to do

    I'm so sorry this has happened @ketokid - especially as things have worsened for you. Unfortunately Mandatory Reconsiderations usually result in no change, as they have a very low success rate. Fortunately currently appealing a PIP decision has a success rate of 68% so long as you appear in person or have a phone/video tribunal, which is a lot more hopeful, & you have nothing to lose.
    A tribunal is also completely separate from the DWP, so well worth pursuing. You can now also appeal online: https://www.gov.uk/appeal-benefit-decision/submit-appeal
    It's worth mentioning that if perhaps you just put 'no change' on your review form without giving details as to exactly how your disability still affected you, giving the details as to the difficulties you face as with your initial claim form, this wouldn't have helped.
    With your appeal, try & give a couple of detailed examples (thinking about the time of your assessment) as to the difficulty you face for each applicable descriptor, i.e. when did it happen, where, what happened, did anyone see this, & were there any consequences to attempting/doing an activity?

    Say if you can do each applicable activity 'reliably,' i.e. safely, to an acceptable standard, repeat as often as one would reasonably expect, or if it takes you much longer than someone without a disability.

    Hi chiarieds thanks so much for the amazing info. Will have a good read tomorrow. do i not need to ring the pip dept. up and tell them I'm taking it further ?

    You're very welcome. No, you don't need to contact the DWP/PIP, just go ahead with your appeal.

    OH ok thanks so much, I could do with out the hassle n upset of it all , don't understand how they can only award me two points when I had 12 before I  told them in detail that's things are worse and will not get better. The assessor that rang me in December was horrid and in my opinion had no idea off mental heath  and was not sympathetic what so ever.

    Sorry to read that.....it certainly doesn't help if you have an unsympathetic assessor, but onwards & upwards hopefully now!
