Tabs you have open

Am I the only one who always starts new tabs in my internet browser instead of using the current one, just in case I want to go back to what I was doing?

I'm not as bad as I used to be...I used to keep doing it till I had 100+ tabs open and would open more until my computer crashed and I had to force restart it :D

I currently have a load of tabs open about different whiskies that I am interested in, as well as a half finished Nerdle game and for some reason have the Scope coffee lounge open 3 times instead of just using the same one

Without sharing anything private...what are some of the random tabs you currently have open that you care to share???

I used to be terrible for having millions of tabs open, now I try to limit myself to 15 max, it helps productivity as I can still see what's on which tab quickly.

Currently it's all work related stuff and my coursework. So it's not very exciting, well, not for most people anyway.  :D

You're not the only one! I've often got a lot of tabs open. When I'm helping someone use a computer, one of my pet peeves is when they click a link to go to something directly without opening it in a new tab. New tab every time!

And the most satisfying thing from when I was studying was finally closing the billion tabs I'd had open while writing some essay or other :D

Like Albus, my tabs are all work related today but I'll often have a bunch of different Reddit discussions, YouTube pages, and a few other randoms open at once on my personal laptop and be dipping in and out of all of them. The most interesting one I've got open at the moment is for some Indian block printed fabric. I'm trying to choose some prints to sew some summer clothes over the next few weeks :)

I open up to 10 tabs first thing in the morning and work my way through, closing each one when each 'task' has been completed.  Helps me prioritise tasks and limit the amount of time I spend on any single one.

I will open multiple tabs if a task requires comparing things on different pages for example.  But I don't like to have many open at once, so once that task is complete, will close all of those tabs.

I prefer to close them as I go, forget sometimes but I don't like more then 4 open at any 1 time

I nearly always have the MetOffice & my email tabs open. Depending on if I'm doing any research (including looking at things Scope related), then there can be way more! Once I've completed any such research, then I also close those all down.

On my personal computer I have a few tabs that always stay open, my email, schedule etc.

I tend to have "important" things open in tabs in the same window as them, and then I have a separate window for 'general browsing'. I do have 2 monitors though, I dunno what I'd do without having 2! It's really an upgrade to using a computer if you can afford the second monitor.

Edit: But yes, my 'general browsing' window will gather up a lot of tabs! I have to just save ones I want to look at later and close the whole thing down to start it anew now and then.

    @Jimm_Scope

I have never used 2 monitors, but on Mac you can have several desktops open which are sort of like virtual screens - you swipe the mouse pad with 4 fingers and it actually "swipes" the whole screen out of view, and drags the other one into view

It's a feature I use all the time, Windows might have developed something similar by this point, but I don't think I could go back to having just one desktop now as it would feel really cluttered!!

It depends what I'm doing, I have my main email tabs pinned. If shopping, there can be a lot, doing comparisons & such, which I'm not doing ATM. ;) On here, I have the main page open, like now, then open up a thread in a new tab, so I don't lose my place! :D Following sports I can have a few open too. I have now, for live cricket scores.

I have to admit that as I type this I have 58 tabs open on my iPhone 😊. And it's even worse on my desktop where I use two monitors stacked one above the other. The bottom one is dedicated to gaming, while the top one is reserved for tips, YouTube videos, car forums, and other sites that interest me 🥸.

I do close them down, when I realise how many I have open on the phone, or multiple Chrome windows open with 10+ tabs in each. I open links into a new tab, and refer back to the search page for additional information.

Since I am retired I don't have any work-related tabs open, shame as I miss the interactions.
