Think my crohns is flaring again

I have pretty bad crohns disease (having stoma fitted and mutiple operations) and I'm worried that my crohns is flaring again. I have no appitite and struggling to eat the most simple things. I have only been able to manage a pasty at lunch and thats the only thing I have managed to eat all day. I also feel pretty unwell at the moment just feel like urgh (sickly) and have some discomfort but not really in much pain. This has been happening for the past 4 days.

I know stress is a big trigger for crohns and just went through a massive breakdown from a relationship ending suddenly and took the news badly and was suicidal in hospital for 2 months (I have RSD through my Autism and ADHD and have schizophrenia) hearing voices commanding me to hurt myself and saying i'm worthless and everyone hates me.

I'm just scared if it flares up again, as each time it has flared nothing has helped before apart from surgery, and the last surgery I had, I had a bad reaction the the drugs they give you and nearly died and ended up in ICU.

I have a consulant who normally manages it, however struggling to get through to them. Will have to try again tomorrow. I'm due my injection again this week so hopefully that helps (adalimumab) and it settles down in a few days, but just worried incase it doesn't not had a flare up for a few years now.

Hi @rubin16 , I'm truly sorry to hear about you flare up . I'm also sorry to hear that it is affecting your appetite but I can sympathise with you . I hope you can get some help to make things easier to deal with . This response is quite late but I just wanted to offer a tiny bit of empathy.  I do hope your flare settles soon.  God bless you

Thankyou, I ate something this morning, but been in real discomfort since eating. I just don't feel very good and have alot of discomfort and feel sick. I think I'm just not going to eat anything for a while. I have tried to get in touch with my consultant but it just goes on voicemail.

Still not managed to get through, if I'm not better soon might have to go book in at A&E, I am in some pain and discomfort now, and was up till like 3am last night in agony after just eating some soup. Everything I eat now is making me feel really bad and causing pain. I think my blood levels are dropping too as I keep getting bad cramp all over my body so might need a potasium infusion again.

@rubin16 I'm so sorry to hear about your flare.
I have a IBD nurse that I can call for things like incontinence pads, flare up in where I need an appointment or just general advice maybe you could ask your gastroenterologist consultant if your hospital has this service.

I hope your feeling better nothing worse than a flare up. Hugs stay strong

Hey everyone, sorry for the late response just spent 16 days in Hospital as my flare was getting really bad, I have been sent home now and been put on steroids which seem to be working. My body has built up antibodies to the medication I take for crohns so it will no longer work, so waiting to be put on a new drug but I'm on steroids now for the next 7 weeks.

I'm starting to get stomach pain again, and still feel really unwell. Not sure if my crohns is flaring again I really hope not. I took my last steroid tablet today, but starting tomorrow I have nothing. I have tried emailing the IBD nurses however they close at 2pm so have to wait till tomorrow.
