I think they are proposing stuff to get Labour either to agree with their plans or get them to oppose them which will give them ammunition come the election.

Everytime he's spoken, he's said as much.       

Starmer is speaking on a lot of things everyday - however I don’t think I’ve heard anything on the welfare system, societies most vulnerable or the disabled (please correct me and post receipts if I’m wrong)

look, I know I seem to be trashing starmer a lot - he’s a politican I really want to be successful catering for all walks of life - however ever since I read that when the official labour support group tried to talk to starmer and he seemed disinterested in them I’ve been wary (I was defending him till 9 months ago)

when was the last time we had a uncorrupted pm or even minister?

I want to have faith in him but the best things we can say about him is that he’s not rishi sunak and that it’s not 100% clear what his viewpoints and policy are (we need to see a manifesto)


one easy way he can get the disabled favour/vote - dump Kendall and give a somewhat human labour mp the work&pensions minister job (the first w&p shadow minister under starmer was Jonathan Reynolds who was actually pretty decent - there are actually quite a few labour mps that would do okay with that portfolio)


or actually get some disabled people in Parliament as mps - and stop the bullying of the handful we currently have (a mp with a stammer is stepping down next election due to other mp’s harassment of them)

I’d bet good money that the more common ‘fake’ disabilities such as adhd, ocd. Autism, etc…. Will soon not be recognised as disabilities

(that’s kind of happening already - my last few accessments my autism + other conditions that have a daily negative impact on my life were practically ignored by the accessor and decision maker - the conditions most taken notice of………..depression & anxiety!
in a weird way sunak has a point - depression and anxiety are the route to many getting sickness benefits…..what it wouldn’t be if so many disablities (incl very visible ones) weren’t ignored or fobbed off by the dwp and disability advocates and charities didn’t have to find a way for the disabled to get their rightful award
unfortunately it doesn’t help that some people take advantage the depression and anxiety are invisible and can be hard to prove either way - it’s really hard as anxiety and depression can display differently in different individuals)

ive observed in my area in the last year that not only are the visibly disabled increasenly getting harassed but people are brazenly out loud boosting about faking depression or anxiety to get extra money, using blue badge spots and boosting about it when they have no right to & using a mental health reason to verbally attack others

(sadly I have far too many of my own examples and experiences of the above in the past 6 months - if my support system wasn’t uk based I’d seriously be considering relocation)

once again I sincerely apologise if I offended, being disabled in the uk has just gotten really touch and honestly things feel pretty dark, no light!

Well I was hoping I would calm down after feeling sick with Worry over the weekend about 'Mr  nasty pm billionaire's' speech.

From what I've read and understand it looks like most of us who are in receipt of PIP ,whether for physical or mental health issues will be having our payments stopped or severely reduced.

 Looks like I'm going to have to invest in a waterproof tent as I along with millions of others face destitution and inevitable homelessness. 

As a labour voter I'm hoping that if they win the election that they won't go through with such evil plans against the sick, disabled and vulnerable. But I won't be holding my breath..

Labour will go after jobseekers that's my prediction, if you're fit for work and can't find a job then work placement, community work or apprenticeships ect. Remember Liz Kendall at a speech recently said she wants 18-24 year olds into work.

Despite being apolitical I don't like the likes of Farage, certain Tory MP's and Telegraph/Mail/Talk TV/GBNews going after those who genuinely have mental health difficulties as it's the new bad back aka playacting. The Tory brand is toxic and Boris Johnson was their best chance because he had the charisma which cuts through politics.

I want this hate, this re-stigmatizing mental health back into the box. People need help not to get shrugged off and told "get a job".
