Carers allowance

Just want a bit of advice, I currently care for someone who revieves PIP, his mum also cares for him, I recieve carers allowance but I also have LCWRA so I do not recieve carers element, his mum has just told UC that she has started caring for him, can I still claim carers allowance as she will start receiving Carers element?

His mother will not be able to claim carers element for looking after him while you are claiming carers allowance. UC will do checks before they award anything and they will see that you are claiming CA.As there’s no financial gain for you claiming carers allowance because it’s just deducted in full from any UC entitlement then you can ring carers allowance and cancel the claim. She will then be able to claim it.0

I claim CA to get weekly payments, it does come out my UC, thankyou for replying.0
