Anyone here like Pop-Punk/Rock music?

Bands I'm really into at the moment:

  1. Fall Out Boy (Recently discovered).
  2. Green Day (Started listening to them when I had my first bout of depression, still like them)
  3. Sum 41 (Liked them since childhood)
  4. Foo Fighters (Got into them 3 years ago)
  5. Biffy Clyro (Got into them 2 years ago)

Does anyone have any recommendations for bands that are similar sounding to the above? Any suggestions greatly received.

    I love punk rock like Green Day!!!!

    The Buzzcocks are good, I don't know if that counts as punk but they seem quite rebellish for their time (which is like the 70s, they are probably quite tame by todays standards)

    I never heard of "punk pop" but I quite like Avril Lavigne as she seems kind of punky even though she isn't a rock singer, her songs seem like she has an attitude but like not in a bad way if that makes sense??

    I feel old now..

    Avril was good, I listened to some of her songs in the car when I was a child.

    I've seen the Buzzcocks live, they were excellent.

    I've been on the music scene locally for donkeys years and was around during the first collection of pop punk bands and DJed a fair few club nights, so I know a fair bit here. 😁

    I'm guessing you know Blink 182? Their first couple of albums are very silly pop punk, but their later stuff is still great, a lot more mature though.
    Other bands I'd say you should check out;
    Brand New, Saves the Day, Alkaline Trio, Paramore, Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Sum 41 and The All-American Rejects. That should do you for a while. 😊

    And I'm glad to see Avril is releasing songs again, wohoo!

    Thanks for your recommendations Albums, I will have a look into those. On a side note - are you a Harry Potter fan, because your username is Albus?

    I got into Blink182 fairly recently, I prefer their first 2 albums instead of their later stuff.

    Simple Plan - another band I've recently discovered, only heard one and 1/2 of their first 2 albums. Not heard any of their new stuff, but I know that Deryk Whibley collaborated on one of their newest songs.

    Sum41 - the band whose songs I relate to a lot. Shame they split up recently, their new and last album is really good.

    The All-American Rejects - I had Dirty Little Secret on a compilation album in my Dad's car when I was a child, Move Along was also on there, and I still enjoy both songs.

    I listen to so much music I find it hard to split into separate genres. Hopefully all of these fit that category though. If you ever listen to the radio, try Radio X for this sort of thing. 🙂

    FallOutBoyfan, all your favourites also play on Radio 6 I discovered when Radio X stopped working on my digital radio! Both great stations for new and old punky rock.

    Sleaford Mods stand out for me and Muse is the only band I want to see live (being old and autistic now)

    Ian Dury was the original 'disability game-changer' 😉

    (Albus, no idea why Paramore didn't do it for me but daughter loved them and we had a lot of fun changing volume buttons!)

    Looks like you've got some good suggestions so far! My partner likes a band called Bayside that are sort of punk/rock. He really likes the song Enemy Lines in particular. I can't remember how he found them but they're not very well known in the UK, could be worth a listen!

    The real question is 😉did anyone listen to { and dance to ) 'Big 7' and the other 'Bigs' lol 🤣😁 I recently listened to them on Alexa and sent links to my two 40 plus year old Daughters haha, they were shocked to say the least. I told them yours and following generations were not the only music that was 'naughty'. Listening to them for the first time in ( its a secret } years made me chuckle and sorry yes I did sing along lol. Oh I loved the 70's, wish I was back there, was listening to all sorts over a few days to try and drag my butt out of the doldrums and it helped a lot, I played ''baggy trousers'' full blast 😁. My 17 year old Grandson loves Paramore and he is getting a bit punky with metal thrown in there too.

    I take it that's the Judge Dread 'Bigs'? Prince Buster's Big Five gave me a chuckle when I first heard it on vinyl about 20 years ago. 😄

    Hi at OverlyAnxious yes Judge Dread lol 😁 they all make me laugh, some are better than others of course. Yep I have vinyl originals as they were banned on the radio etc, shame as as much as they were a little out there should we say, I thought they were real fun and fab when everyone danced to them at clubs. Not sure my parents ever heard them 😁I think I played certain records at low volume lol. I have a lot of 70's vinyl's, 45's and Lp's, my Grandson loves going through them and playing them even the soppy ones haha. I was a real mixed bag in my teens during the 70's. I did the Bay City roller tartan thing then as a later teen it was Dr Martens, two tone stay press trousers, Crombie coat and ben Sherman shirts. Then I guess I had to grow up lol and become a lady hahahaha.
