New Style ESA and tax refund

Good Morning,
I just wanted to see if anyone had experienced this . I’ve been dismissed from work due to ill health. I will receive my final pay tomorrow, however I’ve been on HMRC app and I’ve paid £475 tax . which is understandable as it was a high amount. Am I right in thinking that, I won’t be able to claim a tax refund, even though I’ll be well below the income threshold, because I’m claiming new style ESA and it’s a taxable benefit .

My final pay is holiday owed and payment in lieu due to me not being capable of working notice. Non of my final payment is for any hours worked at all .

Final pay from your employer and a tax refund if anything is owed will not affect your NsESA.
