I am not going to get the car anymore because they said it requires a Software Update that was alerted to them when it went through its Pre Delivery Inspection… they didn’t tell me how long will this take just that it’s a waiting list does anyone know how long this takes

Sorry to hear that your car has been delayed @happypanda767.

I'm afraid I'm not too sure about how long it'll be, but I'll move your post over to our Transport section where our members who've got experience of Motability can find it more easily. I hope you're not waiting too long! Welcome to the community by the way, I hope you'll find it useful 😊

I think it would depend on which bit of the car they need to update the software on

If it's the infotainment system I'd say like 15 minutes, so I'm kind of confused by their response here 🤔

Even if it's something large like an engine ECU update it takes no more than an hour.

They obviously need to have space in the workshop to connect it to the computer. Most garages are so busy at the moment they'll have to wait for a spare slot.

Or it may be that they don't have access to the update yet. They just know that one will be available soon as people are working on it right now.
