UC, single to joint claim

Hello, any help appreciated as UC cannot seem to answer the question…
I have been on a single UC claim for 23 months, yesterday, myself and partner moved to a new home together. Was told to update UC on the day this happened. Did so ( partner has never claimed UC) linking code all sorted and joint claim in process.
Current assessment period runs 9th May to 10th May, joint claim made 5th June.
My question… Will I receive any of my single claim payment for 24 days of may assessment period?
Called UC and was told “you both work full time” which didn’t answer my query at all and had zero relevance. Have 2 dependents.
Many thanks

You have the dates of your assessment periods wrong, which was a typo I'm sure. They will be 10th to 9th of every month. Your UC entitlement is based on your circumstances on the last day of each assessment period. This means that your next payment on 15th June will be based on your joint claim and not your single claim.
Pointless ringing the helpline because they are call centre staff with very little knowledge of UC other than to sit there reading from a screen.

Thank you, seems a little unfair…but understood

No problem. Unfortunately, it's the law. You can be paid for part of a month with UC.

I can see Poppy has already helped you here with your query, but I just wanted to stop in and say hi.😊0
