Positive PiP review

So last July I had my PiP review start, fast forward to the other day and just before I was going bed I get a message from my bank in my phone saying I had just shy of 3.5k go in, I had a look and it was from PiP.

Yesterday I got a letter saying they have awarded me enhanced in both and the money is because they have awarded me the enhanced from when the review started. I used to be on lower amount for both previously.

It know it’s rare and luckily I didn’t have a assessment and I think it’s rare they backdate the money to when the review starts.

This isn’t a post to gloat it’s to let people know it’s not all doom and gloom.

    @JLS that is absolutely fantastic news, I had the same experience as you with the only difference being I had a telephone assessment, like you awarded enhanced and to my delight awarded a 10 year award.

    It's nice to see the positive review stories and reassure members that it is not all doom and gloom.

    Once again congratulations on your award.

    Thanks Blinky, same to you wow I thought my 5 year award was long but 10 years is so good and not got to worry for a long time.

    Yeah that’s why I posted as to just try put some peoples minds at rest slightly that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

    Congratulations on your award. The same thing happened to me. I received my review forms in March 2022 and was awarded in late July 2023 through a paper-based assessment. Up until that point, I was only receiving the standard daily living award, with no mobility support. However, after the assessment, I was granted enhanced benefits for both daily living and mobility, with a ten-year award. The award was also backdated to the date they received my renewal forms. I was in disbelief and had to read it twice to be sure!

    @JLS

    The turning point for me was when I joined Scope and received excellent advice from its members on how to complete review forms, which I believe significantly contributed to the success of my claim this time. Prior to this, I had been solely receiving standard daily living support since 2018.

    I realised that the reason I was only awarded the low-rate daily living component was because I focused too much on medical reports instead of how my conditions affected my daily life.

    Armed with the advice from Scope members, I completed the PIP review form, concentrating on how my conditions impacted my daily life rather than on my medical conditions. I owe my positive results to our community members.

    That’s a fair point shout out to this wonderful site, and people. This site along with a couple other places I won’t promote were invaluable to filling in the forms correct. Places like this help so much even if it’s to see we are not alone.
