Who is really sick?

Hello everyone
I have a question
Tell me, my dears, how to get a referral to a psychiatrist. I had an appointment on Wednesday and the doctor sent me 3 self-referral links, 2 of which don't work and I've been to IAPT recently. I clearly told her that I have a deep problem, and there I see my last chance. She started asking me if I was having suicidal thoughts, and I was, whether I planned it or not, and that I don't want to talk, especially on the phone. but it's not enough for my gp, she mixed up the dosage of medications and forgot some, and that's all she said that she would call me in a week, we'll see
Sorry for incorrect spelling l use translation, English is not my first language

I'm really sorry to be negative, but I don't like telling untruths and don't want to give you false hope - sadly it's like this all over the country at the moment
If you can even get a GP to spare a moment of their time to speak with you, then you are already relatively lucky
It's a long waiting game at the moment and there is not really anything that can be done about that
The only real way to get fast-tracked is probably to present as a genuine danger to yourself or others, which would probably involve lying - aside from the morality of doing this it would probably result in you not getting the appropriate care for your situation anyway
I won't copy and paste all the generic things you can do like go to MIND or A&E, I personally find that unhelpful, but that's just my opinion and someone else may feel differently and wish to do so, which I would have respect for
The last thing I would say is that paying for a psychiatrist will get you in in a matter of days, maybe even hours… that's obviously only an option only to some people, but it's worth mentioning
I hope this helps a little and good luck

Hi @Agulu, it really is difficult right now. Mental Health care has historically been quite neglected in the NHS, and it's just becoming worse now.
We sent you a follow-up email earlier, let me know if there's anything we can do to help!

@Ada
I think most surgery’s seem to be so busy they have taken on to many people I think then can’t cope. I’m very lucky with my GP
I hope things get better for yous.1
