Eye Condition Payment from DWP info

Hello. I just came across an article in the news that stated the DWP would be providing assistance in the form of payment to people with certain eye conditions... both my husband and I have eye conditions. I have astigmatism in both eyes, a lazy eye and my husband is nearsighted. Could someone with more info about this possibly assist me? Thanks so much.

Hey there @Danikins88 I've just had a quick look at the article and it appears to be all about PIP, which is a benefit you can claim if your conditions affect you on a daily basis. They're mostly talking about sight loss, or degenerative conditions.

I'm currently already on PIP for my mental health condition... I have read a bit further too and the way I understand it is that this is for people who aren't on it already and could be due to these impairments. Thanks for your reply.

Relevant to people with severe myopathy and severe astigmatism.
For most of us these impairments can be corrected by lenses.
