Hello guys , somone can give me some advice how to deal with Sciatic nerve pain please I'm 20 and dealing with acute pain for at least 5 years .. Today I have a sitting and standing difficulty for like 20 mhn and also I have terrible pain while sleeping . . what is the best treatment for this kind of issue in order to allivate the pain ...

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with sciatic nerve pain. Is this something you are under a care team for, and are you having any treatment?
This NHS page has a wealth of information about sciatica and, other than speaking with your GP, suggests the following self-care:carry on with your normal activities as much as possibleI've moved your thread to our Physical and neurological impairments category and amended the title to reflect that you're struggling with sciatic nerve pain, if anyone has any wisdom from experience they can offer.
start gentle exercise as soon as you can – anything that gets you moving can help
hold heat packs to the painful areas – you can buy these from pharmacies
ask your pharmacist about painkillers (paracetamol is unlikely to help and it's not clear how much NSAIDs help with sciatica)
put a small, firm cushion between your knees when sleeping on your side, or several firm pillows underneath your knees when lying on your back

I went to a chiropractor when I had sciatica took quite few sessions but started to ease a bit after few I carried on for a year going monthly never had a 0roblem since

As Cher has said have you been to the Doctors and know what is causing your sciatic ?
Sciatic pain is a big part of my condition and there are several things you can try, There are some great exercises you can do, which i had given me from the physio department. You deff need to make sure you know whats going on with your body.0 -
@Neho2023, I am truly sorry to hear about your sciatic nerve pain. I know exactly what that's like because I have had sciatic nerve pain for nearly 42 yrs now. My first question for you is, have you seen a neurologist? If you haven't, then make an appointment to see one as soon as possible. Because until you go and get some tests done and got the results then you wont know how serious the situation is. Therefore you must take things gently and not push your body too far. To be honest the best thing you can do is have physiotherapy to help you with the pain, traction is great for sciatic nerve pain, it sounds awful but feels amazingly good! I can tell you one thing tho, if you don't keep moving, your body will seize up and that is when the pain gets way worse! If you can stand the pain then go for gentle walks. Swim if you can. But whatever you do, don't stop moving because you really will suffer way more if you do. Rest only for short spells, move around (DONT LIFT ANYTHING HEAVY) and take lots of breaks to rest, but keep moving. Also, for the leg pain when you are in bed, I have found that a rolled up bath towel or pillow placed under the sore leg, behind the calf muscle or knee, (see which gives you the best result) can really work wonders. Massage is also very good for the area of the back that is damaged, it can ease a fair bit of the pain, and can make you feel amazing.

Excersise helped until my stroke, now it's just gabapentin until I'm able to walk without falling over my own feet lol.
I found that Co cocamol or tramadol from Dr's helped me be able to Excersise again and push thru pain until the Excersise started to help, was around 6 weeks until I noticed improvement but it will improve.
