We were told to inform them when PIP decision comes through they still havent actioned nor replied back. Left a few messages. Wife is on LCWRA so doesnt have work coach i have no work comitments due to being carer, but they are not responding.

I'm assuming you reported it through "reporting a change of circumstances and then clicked caring for someone"? You'll be surprised how many people would just think they need to put a message on their journal to report the changes.

If you did it correctly the extra money should be included in your next statement. It's not unusual for messages to go unanswered when you don't have a work coach. A case manager may see the messages and the end of your next AP. To be sure they do, make sure you put the messages under the payment section.

Finally got a response from them, said they have put the carer element to our claim and next payment will include it.

Do you know how backdate carers element is paid, will it be separate payment.

Good news. It will be as a separate payment, money owed is always separate.

Does this payment come before the monthly UC payments or after?

    Thanks

That's something I can't answer but I do know very often it can take quite a few weeks to pay what is owed. Once your statements have been recalculated you will receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will be paid into your bank.

If it's being paid from before the benefits increase (can't remember exactly but I think it is) then it will be a mixture of old and new rates.
