PIP AND UNIVERSAL CREDIT
Has any disability organisation had talks with the new government to see if they are going to be replacing the PIP payment with vouchers, because that truly horrifies me? As someone with a fluctuating condition, where my needs change day to day, my PIP is my lifeline.

No 1 knows atm they might they might not hopefully not but prepare for the worst something will happen that we will not be happy with as it is unsustainable in its current form IMO they should make it means tested for about 15-20k

Hi @LIVEDANDLEARNED, I can totally understand why you're feeling stressed out by the proposed changes, it can be really frightening to even consider what might happen should they go through. You're not alone in feeling worried about it, lots of our members have been stressed out by the thought of it. But at the moment these voucher ideas are just proposals put forward for the consultation, and we've yet to hear whether any of it will go ahead or be totally scrapped by the new government. We just don't know at this stage.
Scope and I'd imagine quite a few other disability organisations have responded to the consultations and will be continuing to campaign against any changes that would negatively affect disabled people. Hopefully we'll find out more about the government's plans soon, but we're here if you need to chat about it 😊
