You can speak your local Authority to ask if they have any funding from the Household Support Fund to help with moving costs.
Do you have any family or friends that can do the lifting for you?

they can’t help I’ve asked and no sorry

Are you claiming for help with the rent through Housing benefit or Universal Credit? If so the only other thing I can think of is a DHP (Discretionary Housing Payment) It would help with things like rent in advance but not sure about moving costs specifically.
Are you claiming any other benefits other than PIP? If so which ones please?

No they can’t hep and also pip

I know you're claiming PIP but what about any other benefits? ESA, Universal Credit perhaps?

I just need help with the cost the prices people want is stupid I’ve tried the council they can’t help

If it's Income Related ESA then you can apply for a Budgeting loan but it does need to be repaid back.
Other than that I'm afraid I can't think of anything else. When I moved house in January there was no funding available for me either, I had to pay for it myself.

If you have any unused items at home, you could sell them to reduce the amount that needs moving and also cover the removal costs.

Hi @lisaprior, welcome to our community 😊 A move is such a stressful time I imagine it's only made all the more stressful due to your health.
Can I ask, was there any specific reason the local authority said they cannot help? Do they know what condition you are currently in at all?

they didn’t have the funds

Have you tried a grants search such as Turn2Us?
I can't guarantee there will be a grant that fits, but it's the next place I would look.

Hi my name is Mary Ellen, iam on permanent disability due to a diabetic coma and stroke. My current apartment is on the second floor and have a lot of difficulty managing the stairs due to my weakness and lack of balance issues.
I have two dogs that love being outside so I try to combine taking out trash, picking up mail n giving them some exercise so I only have to go up n down once a day.
The current place I would be moving to is only 2 miles away but on the first floor with in-unit laundry duo.
I can't stand or lift things anymore because I immediatelyget winded and have to sit down.
Your help/grant would be greatly appreciated. My 21 yr old son could help but can't do it all by himself.
Thank you for your consideration. 😃

are there any local papers with classified ads. Sometimes you can get 2 men with a van to help and the cost is quite reasonable. They moved all my stuff in 2 loads and put all the boxes and furniture in my house for me.
You could see about getting help from the household support fund or a budgeting loan. A local charity might help, maybe try the Salvation Army or another community group.
Another thing you could do is contact the citizens advice or welfare dept at the council and see what they suggest.failing all of those things a go fund me page on Facebook?0 -
