in Start here and say hello!

hello to everyone i dont know what to do my doctor 15 years ago put me on 600mg of zomorph every day? my body has turned into a drug addicts body i cant function normally anymore i feel sick all the time please help me i only take the prescription drugs my doctor has given me i feel like he wants to kill me .please help me i just need to find someone that has gone though simoler to please any advise

    it seams that in this country the only way to get help from anyone for drug addiction is to be a heroin addict or worse horrible crack addict my doctor that new me from when i was 2 years old that has now died of cancer at **** he was my doctor since i was 2 years old but what i cant forgive him for was putting me on 600mgs of zomorph every day which has turned my body into a drug addicts body the morphine is killing me more every day has this just happened to me in the uk please let me know if there are people that have to take this amount of morphine everyday how do you cope everyday please help me xxxx

    Hi @deano124 - & welcome to the community. I'm sorry for all you've gone through. You're not a drug addict because you've been prescribed morphine, tho your body has instead become dependent on it.

    Can you talk to your GP about your wish to reduce Zomorph & possibly look at alternatives? I'm sure they'll help. This is just my personal experience, but I came off Fentanyl (morphine patches) ever so gradually, & was then prescribed another non-morphine type of drug instead to help.

    We're not medical professionals, so you need a Drs help. If your not happy with your current GP then please see if you can find another in the practice to help you.

    I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I would definitely reach out to your Drs surgery and request to see a different Dr. It's clearly affecting you quite badly and something should be done so you have better quality of life.

    Do you have any mental health support?
