Wheelchair friendly tables

Hi everyone

Have you heard the expression ‘wheelchair friendly tables’, in the context of booking venues?

When checking out the accessibility of a restaurant recently I was told it had wheelchair friendly tables. Amused me slightly as what actually does it mean. Sounds like an expression conjured up by non-wheelchair users to me but is it a recognized term?

    Hi!

Yep, it normally means easy access, so you don't have a maze of chair backs with people sat that need to move in for us to wheel around. Just makes life easier & in some case, less embarrassing.
