I'm finally getting somewhere with my hospital volunteering

Hi everyone, I applied to become a volunteer at my local hospital earlier this year, but I hadn't heard anything from them since April, so I emailed them and someone replied to me apologising for no one replying to me as there had been a lot of people who were off work due to sickness.
My volunteering is moving forward now. I had some volunteering courses to do first, but I managed to finish them using my phone as I need to find my laptop charger, mouse and mouse mat.
I have an appointment with the occupational therapy team who do assessments for new staff members and volunteers who want to work at the hospital.
My appointment is so that they can do some blood tests to check a couple of my vaccines and for something else that I can't remember what it is now.
I was talking to my mum and my fiancé earlier (before my mum went to work) about my previous volunteer role and I said that it didn't feel right to be working in a shop, but when I said that I would probably feel a lot better volunteering at my local hospital, they both agreed with me.
I know that I'll feel more comfortable volunteering at my local hospital as I didn't hesitate for too long over my decision to apply for a volunteer role and I even asked a few people for help when I was looking for the volunteer hub.
I also had no trouble talking to my volunteer coordinator, Jen either.
I did find it difficult to get someone to come n help me in the shop as there was a lot of customers in the store and I didn't want to risk making anyone jump with my loud voice as I used to have to talk loud to my late nanna as she wore a hearing aid and sometimes she would either turn it down or switch it off so that she couldn't hear my late dad nagging at her.

I hope the volunteering goes really well for you @BrianMcFaddenfan24! It sounds like it's a great opportunity. I can understand finding it easier to volunteer at a hospital than a shop, it probably feels like you're doing more good too?
