Hi everyone
I have enquired about a college course that I'm interested in doing at a local college to help build my confidence and to gain some more qualifications to help towards being able to work in my local hospital.
I have got an application form and a prospectus so that I can have a look at the course I'm interested in doing, but I also know that some college courses and jobs want people to have certain grades in English and maths, which I haven't got as I've got GCSES in all of my subjects, which are grades D-G as I did foundation GCSEs.
The grades in English and maths that courses and jobs want these days are C and above or 9 and above, which I don't have as I've struggle with maths since I was in high school, so I'd hate to try and get higher grades in both English and maths than what I've already got.

You could try speaking to the college. Sometimes they can put you in contact with the course head who decides these requirements. Often you can have a discussion with them about your own personal circumstances and why you should still be eligible for the course, despite missing some of the set out requirements. I have actually done this in the past once, but I can't guarantee it will work. They do not always have the time to meet with everyone who requests a meeting, and they may not agree with you about setting aside the requirements.
