Reinstatement of Daily Living Allowance, when moving into supported housing.

Hello.
I am receiving enhanced PIP, but I will eventually move into a supported flat. I live in a care home, so my daily living allowance has been suspended. When I eventually move into a flat, do I just let PIP know I've moved and it'll get reinstated straight away?
I am going to be living in a care home for the foreseeable, but I thought I'd make a thread out of curiosity.

yes just phone PIP and let them know. I’ve done it both ways. Phoned to let them know I had left residential care and moved in with my parents for a while so they restarted my daily living component. Then when I moved to my new care home we phoned them and told them and they stopped the daily living again.

Do you like it at your care home at the moment? Are you looking forward to moving to a supported flat?

I do like the care home I am in @surfygoose I can' t wait to have my own flat.
A place where you can be your own boss. I'm looking forward to it.

I’m glad that the place you are living in while you are waiting is ok. That’s exciting to be working towards your own flat. I was excited enough when I moved to a care home that has an en-suite shower room. Hated sharing bathroom facilities!

While having the care is nice, I can fully understand wanting your own space that is just yours. Best of luck with the move and everything @Ironside1990. Do let us know how you get on?

I have a question. I don't want to jinx it, but there might be a supported living flat becoming free. My question is this. What happens if i need to contact PIP and my auntie and uncle can't be there? I.e they're on holiday.
Can i have a member of staff stand in for them? Or does it HAVE to be my auntie and uncle?

Are your aunt and uncle your appointees @Ironside1990?

Yes

It's my understanding that as they are your appointees, they will need to be present for the call @Ironside1990.

Thank you. It's hard having appointees. They're there to help you, but won't always be there when you need them, as they have thier own lives as well.
I just hope i move before they go away again. Thank you.
