ESA to UC further payments for two weeks query

hello all!
I have a question about managed migration after receiving a letter from ESA to UC (I’ve not received the letter but because I’ve read they’re due to start going out this year, I thought I’d clear up some confusion I have now so at least I know a bit better what to expect).
I’ve read that you will receive an ESA payment for a further 2 weeks. But does that mean you get a last ESA payment 2 weeks after you’ve applied for UC, or does ESA keep paying until 2 weeks after your first UC payment, please?
Thank you ☺️

It means that Income Related ESA is paid for 2 weeks after you submit your claim for UC. After that it will stop. Same applies for housing benefit, if you claim that.
If any part of your ESA is contributions based this will continue as normal but be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

@poppy123456 wonderful, thank you for explaining!
so, once I’ve applied for UC, I’ll get one further payment of income-related ESA, and then nothing (apart from my PIP) until the 5 weeks (or however long it takes from submitting the application) for the UC to kick in?(sorry for the follow up question but I get confused easily so just like to be sure I understand fully 😅)

Your first UC payment will be just under 5 weeks after submitting your claim. After you've submitted it, you will receive 1 final ESA payment.
