POEM. PETS FOR YOU.

On the forum, we have a great show of pets that are all loved by their owners, but I would just like to know what you think.

I’ve got 3 cats and a dog

It is great fun to have them round,

I love the lot, they groan a lot

But have you seen they give their love

Even when I’m down.

It made me think, what do they want

They don’t ask for so much

They don’t even want, dad’s 24-hour bank

They don’t need picking up after a night out

Never fussing, and don’t pout.

So what make’s them want me so much

Is it just that gentle touch?

Feeling ill, I make a cup, three sugars, I need the rush

One jumps up upon my knee, and smooth him, he’s soft to touch

He purrs so loud, the pain is gone,

That sound say’s, it’s not that bad.

A signal rings around the room

Now other join the festive tune,

One on my knee, the other round the neck

Now this is all good and well

But, now the dog joins in as well.

They know when something’s wrong

And always burst into that song

The dog says I’m having none of this

And nudges them off so he could sit.

As they jump off onto the floor

Ted chases them around, behind the door they can’t be found

Out the door and up the path

They all split up, those crafty cats.

It’s all a game that they all play

Cos’ he sits in his basket, asleep you say?

They all snuggle into him,

he sits there cleaning them, yes, all day.

Now while all this is going on

I’ve just realised the pain has gone,

I would not change them for the world

And am glad to say I am their friend.

(You have to remember that you think you chose them, but its they who chose you. So next time you look at your pet look at their eyes, and tell me s/he wants you to give them affection.

Your there to feed, and play, but more importantly keep them happy. How many talk to their Pets? I do and most times even when asleep on the settee I would say I going for a cup of tea, coming? and ted would get up and wait by the kitchen door
