How often are these?

Are they random or do they review everyone’s claim?

If you mean work capability assessment review then it varies for everyone. LCWRA and LCW are both ongoing awards until a new decision says otherwise.

If it is a UC Claim Review - not a health reassessment ( in other words a UC50 then a new WCA ) -you will asked to verify your identity and possibly submit financial information in the form of four months' worth of bank statements.

I have recently gone through the process myself following a request received in my Journal. It was relatively straightforward.

I was given a telephone appointment around 3 weeks after the submission date. I was told to answer with a simple Yes or No regarding financial products - ISAs savings accounts, property income etc. In my case I had to submit PayPal statements following the call.

After submitting the statements I got a message confirming the Review was over.

They are checking thousands of claims - there's no telling what algorithm they are using for choosing who to review. Possibly LCWRA claimants and those claims made during the pandemic that were not fully checked - but it does seem completely random.

As long as you have no capital / savings that push you over the allowed threshold - that you have not reported - then it should be a stress free process.

As to how often they do such reviews I am afraid it is unpredictable

    Best wishes

Thank you. I find it very nosey that they ask for bank statements. What is the justification of this?

It's a means tested benefits, they are within their rights to ask for bank statements.
