Hi, my name is Taffie! Pension credits and property, any advice?

Hi, my wife has inherited half of her parents house in Spain as her father has just passed away recently and the other 50% is still in the name of her mother, her mother has said that she would like to donate her 50% share to my wife so that she owns the whole property but the mother in law has just been granted pension credits as she now no longer gets enough state pension to live on, will she lose her pension credit if she was to donate her half of the property to her daughter?

Hi @Taffie, welcome to the community. Sorry for the loss of your wife's father, I hope you're all doing okay in the circumstances. I'm afraid I'm not too clued up on pension credits, but it might be worth getting in touch with Citizens Advice to see if they can offer you any thoughts.
I hope some of our members will be able to offer some more solid ideas too, but I just wanted to say hello and welcome anyway! I hope you can get it all cleared up quickly.
