Decision letter query

Hello I was wondering if anyone else has a similar experience,
In may I appealed the decision of my sons DLA he was awarded lower rate and with the amount of support he needs i believed he should be on at least middle rate, anyway 2 days ago I had back dated money put into my account (not letter just the payment) and when I worked out the difference from lower rate to middle and then times it by the amount of weeks or work out right so I had assumed he had been awarded the middle rate award but today o had the letter and it's states that haven't change the original decision but im so confused as to why they have backdated the payment? Has anyone else had this and the decision letter been wrong 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi @obf2009, welcome to the community. I can't say for certain as every case is different, but mistakes do happen sometimes.
Perhaps you could get in touch with them to see if they can clarify what's going on?
Hopefully it's all sorted and your son has got the rate you were hoping for 🙂
