Homeless help

Hello everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this.
I have been living with my mother and her partner but it’s becoming unbearable to live here. They are causing a serious impact on my mental health. I broke down to my therapist and she has now got me a support worker that’s going to help me with housing. I’m currently receiving UC and LCWRA and I am on the waiting list through the right to choose for suspected autism. I have an appointment tomorrow with my support worker but I don’t know what this means for me. I have no one to support me apart from the support worker and I’m very worried about it. I know the waiting list is extremely long for housing, will they put me in emergency/temp accommodation? What will that be..a hotel/hostel etc? The thought of being on my own as a female/person in this situation is causing me a lot of distress. Am I entitled to housing benefit?
If anyone can help me with some answers I’d really appreciate it
Thanks in advance

Hi @asmkq, I'm really sorry to hear things are so difficult at home, but it's promising that you've got a support worker to help you. Fingers crossed that they can help get you somewhere better as soon as possible.
It's difficult to say exactly what will happen as it'll depend on your circumstances, but if you are placed into temporary accommodation while waiting for somewhere permanent then you should be able to get housing costs paid as part of your benefits.
If your support worker is familiar with the housing situation in your area, they should be able to help answer some of your questions about what kind of accommodation you might be placed into 😊
Hope you can get thing sorted soon and best of luck at your appointment tomorrow!

I've just been put into a hotel a week now it's a bit weird at moment but I know it will be for best long term. Stay focused on you and your needs mental health can be fragile at these times but I know I can pick up phone if things get a bit scary .

I just had my appointment with my support worker and they will be in touch with social services. I just have to wait now. Don’t really have any answers other than that. Have an appointment next Thursday with my support worker again. Just a waiting game I guess, hope for some positive news soon. Will try my best to remain positive. Will keep on updating for anyone that comes across these posts that may be in the same situation.
