I have been referred under the right to choose scheme for an adhd diagnosis. I’ve called a place who asked if I would like medication which I said if I needed it I would.

The cost of a consultation fee is £400 plus loads more if I go back is this right?

Unfortunately titration and medication is quite expensive if sought privately. Around two years ago I had to pay around £250 for the appointment and a further £100 for the medication. With inflation I can imagine that being £400 or more.

Have you asked your local adult clinic what the wait times for titration are @tigerstar? In my experience they are often shorter than for assessment.

It was too long a wait for me @Tracy_Anne100, I live in one of the NHS Trusts with the worst wait times for assessment and titration. I think they've even stopped reporting the assessment wait time. I had to pay for medication until I was on a stable dose, I then did a shared care agreement with my NHS GP, so I only paid privately for medication for around 5 months. Now I get my medication from the NHS.
