Hi, my name is GertStar! Carers allowance issues, what can we do?

I had my carers suspended due to a break of being hospitalised.
Then once I got well did think that my payments will stop completely. I was caring for my son from March'2023 but only realised my payments stopped and reapplied online and was awaiting for response but no response to let me know as they say not to contact them before three months etc but then over past six months, I still did not hear anything, when I gave a call to check, they say they sent me forms again to fill in but I did not receive anything in the post. Then they said they will send me another but I still rechecked my address with them and it was the right one. The forms that finally arrived after a long time again was questions about who took care of my son during that period and so there was no space to state but just like links to answer from what date to what date I find not care for him and who did? So I just cramped and wrote that it was his step dad because his step dad was on leave and was able to look after. But even for this, my husband did not claim any carers allowance. So now, I am still awaiting to hear the response to my last forms sent on 14/9/2024 . I am losing alot of carers allowance from all those months' I am due and since I have not heard anything from them as yet. It is extremely hard as Cost of living is high plus my son's needs are over and above his allowance which means, we have to still cater from our pockets. It is not right for us to be treated in this manner when we rightfully are entitled to the same and alo deserve an explanation as to why we have to wait so long for somebody to get in touch with us as my son is getting PIP and his on the autistic spectrum and records.
So can anyone oversee such injustice done to us poor carers?

Hi @GertStar, welcome to the community. Sorry you're going through this, it must be stressful to cope with the lack of payments with everything else that's going on.
You could try getting in touch with your MP to see if they can do anything. Sometimes they can contact departments on your behalf and see if there's any way to get things moved along. Might be worth a try!
Contact your MP - UK Parliament
I hope our members might also have some experiences and ideas to share. Fingers crossed that you're not waiting too much longer for it all to go through, it's tough to be waiting so long for what you need.
