What help can I get with my enhanced pip? Are there decorating grants? Or rail or travel cards?

Hi... Ive just moved into over 55's living and I'm wondering what help I can get with my enhanced pip... I have made an appointment for blue badge and I would like to get rail/travel card not sure how that works yet... But i have moved and am without flooring or carpet at the moment... I know there used to be a decorating grant years ago and have paid a fortune in paint and it still needs more as the previous tenant was a heavy smoker and not a fan of open windows... I am pretty new to all of this and feel very overwhelmed and lost

Grateful for any input

Thank you :)

Hi I am in an over 55's place.

I got a decorating voucher from the housing society which I requested as the place needed decorating but you will need to request it as they won't just automatically give it to you otherwise.

Regarding carpets etc I had to buy my own.

If you're getting non means tested benefits which I'm not you may be able to get some help but I have no idea where from as I am not entitled to anything.

The household support fund has been extended for England. So if you live in this area then have a look at your local Authorities website for information. You can apply for this and there maybe some help towards flooring.

There was no help for this or decorating when I moved into a social housing property at the start of the year. I had to pay for all of it myself.

For the disabled bus pass have a look at the criteria for that. Whether you automatically qualify through your PIP award will depend on what award you have. You mention Enhanced PIP but there’s 2 parts for PIP, daily living and mobility and it’s the mobility part that would automatically qualify you. https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-disabled-bus-pass

The Housing association provided a voucher for decorating supplies for myself when i moved in. My council also had a fund to help with white goods as i guess their seen as an essential for living independently.
