@WhatThe I fight the use of American English all the way.. I think I know why it has happened though, it's because American English is what is taught as a second language, not British English, even to European's, which seems ludicrous.. so anyone who has English as a second language coming into the UK, will speak American English.
I once said trousers to a German guy and he had no clue what I was talking about!
I also emailed Scope about their email that got brought/take wrong. Americans always seem to say bring/take and a few others incorrect too.

Also, noticed something else.
If I go to a category and click on one of the topics (that have been running a long time), you would think it would take you to the most recent page/comment. But it just goes to a random page.

I've found it very much depends where the teacher has come from. I know some European friends who pronounce and spell British English, because their teacher was from the UK/learnt British English.

The community keeps track of when you last read the topic. So, if everything is working right, it sends you to the oldest unread comment for your account. I understand this is confusing, it certainly took me a little getting used to as it wasn't how I was used to opening forum topics working. This is not something that can currently be changed unfortunately, but I have noted this down as feedback of something to consider making optional in the future if we have the capability.
