Yes review decision timescales are ridiculous! I returned my form last November.
Today I received a phone call from a decision maker wanting to ask me some questions. The phone call took about 10 minutes. At the end he thanked me for answering the phone and realised how stressful it was because it wasn't a planned phone call. I asked if I would need an assessment and he said no, definitely not. He would be making his decision by tomorrow at the latest and I'll receive the letter in the post in 7-10 days. I hope he's true to his word and no assessment is needed.
