Prepayment meters

I found out that I was paying more for my energy by having a prepayment meter for gas and electricity, I find this absolutely sickening considering you have paid upfront, they already have the money in their account and therefore no need to chase you for it if you fall behind payments
I have swapped to smart meters for both energies and have a DD, the DD does not cover all of the bills total but it does get me my energy at a lower cost and I only have a small bill each month to settle up, which is working very well for me.
Not only that but I do not have to go out to top up an energy card anymore.
I am now with Octopus Energy and I have found them to be outstanding in helping me with issues I have knowing I am disabled and am registered as vulnerable, they have fully supported me to make sure I am ok and have regular contact with me to check things are good
Thumbs up to Octopus

I didn't realise there would be a difference in what they charge depending on how you pay. Good to know! We're also with Octopus and have had no issues. That's great that they have been so supportive and kept in contact with you.
