Labour PIP Reform

Hello
This is my first post.
Is it true that Labour are going to reduce PIP in the spring and make it more difficult to receive any sort of payment? I just heard something on the radio. Very worrying.
Thank you.

They haven’t announced anything so we don’t know what may happen. We will just have to wait and see.

Yup I did because there’s so many threads with so much speculation.

Ok thank you. It's just that I heard Nick Ferrari on LBC this morning, talking to Liz Kendall, and he actually said people on PIP losing £3,000 a year as Labour attempt to recoup £4bn from tax and benefit cuts.
This is what he said:
“Remember how the Labour party howled with fury, when the Conservatives came up with the idea, that if you have certain mental health problems, or mobility issues, and you don’t get work, we’ll cut your benefits. Now the government seem set to endorse it. The chancellor, refusing to find the £1.3bn needed to cancel changes that will cost 400,000 people, £3000 a year. So here we go, 400,000 of you, will lose £3000, a year which you get, as benefits if you have mental health problems or mobility issues. The Labour party screamed with outrage and fury, now it looks almost certain they are going to keep it.“

I was wondering where he got his info from seeing as Labour have said next to nothing.
Ok, thank you all for your feedback. Much appreciated.

There is going to be a single 'health element' for all claimants. He is a loudmouth so I can't listen but I do wonder why we're still in doubt about this.

True enough. But Ferrari didn't mention WCA but did mention mental health and mobility issues. Which is why I thought it was to do with PIP.

I listened to Nick this morning but missed that somehow so will listen back, I did hear him interviewing another mp who said they wanted to get people into work but when he asked her how many work places there were she didn’t have a number, instead said it’s just over the unemployed amount

You're right. He said to her, you're the work and pensions minister (or something) so you should know. He also said the government are making these big changes but they don't even know the basics.
