Lcwra & U/C Back payment
Good afternoon all!
This is my first post. Apologies for any mistakes, I have a disability.
I have recently been awarded LCWRA. Here is my timeline for anyone that’s interested;
24 January 2024 supplied first ‘fit’ note Notes have been ongoing up to present day
Feb 2024 received & returned UC50
26th September 2024 Work Capability Assessment over the phone.
17th October 2024 letter appeared in journal stating I have been awarded LCWRA.
I have 2 questions if anyone is kindly able to help.
How much will any back payment be?
(My assessment dates are 24th-23rd of each month)
I owe Universal Credit £1389.11 from previous Advance Payments which I am paying back at a rate of £86.83 a month.
Will any LCWRA back payment be used to clear the Advance Payment Loan?
Thanks in advance 🙂

Your waiting period will be Jan/Feb, Feb/March, March/April.. LCWRA starts from 24th April to 23rd May and first payment will be 30th May.
Money owed will be paid as a separate payment to your usual monthly money and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it.
LCWRA at the moment is £416.19/month. I can't tell you exactly how much you're owed because that will depend on how much UC you're already received against what you should have been paid. Once your statements recalculated you will receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed.
They may take the money you owe them from what they owe you.
