Disabled celebrities - who do you follow?

As part of the Scope Awards, I was thinking about different disabled celebrities who use their spotlight to help raise awareness about disability equality.

Ruth Madeley is one that springs to mind for me. Ruth is an actress and her most recent show was Nightsleeper on BBC, but you might have seen her in Doctor Who, Years and Years and a whole host of other shows.

Ruth uses her platform to challenge attitudes towards Spina Bifida and campaign for accessibility across the board. She's also a big champion for creating better inclusivity and representation of disabled people in the arts and media.

Do you know of any other disabled celebrities? Is there anyone you particularly admire, or who you think uses their platform to affect change? Who do you think is a brilliant celebrity role model?

    Not sure she is a celebrity as such but Nikki Fox. BBC disability correspondents. I think she is a brilliant disability role model.

    I follow Fay she's a model and she's been a speaker on a Scope membership event . I would highly recommend people to sign up to become a member of Scope it's the best thing I have ever done.


    I also follow Sophie Morgan and I watched a documentary about the right to fly campaign on channel 4 I would definitely recommend a watch she's a TV presenter.
