Video pip assessment

Hi I’m
New to all this first claim and today I’ve received a text saying I will have a video assessment in about 2 weeks time . All I know from the bit searching I’ve done is that these are really lengthy . I don’t know what to expect other than they will go over how I answered the questions on the pip form basically . Anyone had one before ? Is it as bad as some say ? I know it’s got to be done so of course I will
Do it despite not feeling comfortable at all about it . If you’ve had one do you prefer it to the other methods? Thank
You x

If you prefer a telephone assessment rather than video you can ring the number on the letter and ask them. Most people have telephone assessments.
The assessment can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes, sometimes longer. They will ask questions about who you live with, do you have pets, do you work is also one they ask a lot. Your day to day life in general. Try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no and try to go into as much detail as possible.
I can't tell you exactly what they will ask because everyone is different.
Once the assessment is complete a report will be written and returned to DWP. From there a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Thank
You Poppy . I don’t want to rock
boat by asking for telephone call instead .. I’d feel like I’m been awkward idk I’ve seen some have asked for that . Some were refused . Would it go against me to ask? Think
I will look more into it do they actually keep recordings of these interviews I’d like to know what they do with them. I don’t want videos of myself shared about without my
Permission that’s for sure!

I've never know anyone be refused a telephone assessment. As I advised, most are telephone anyway. It will not go against you if you request one.
Assessments are not automatically recorded. If you want it recorded you will need to ask them.
