Motability insurance
hi everyone
I have had my car 2 years and made one minor claim.
This evening someone went into my parked car and it looks like a write off. He has admitted liability (and took out 2 of the neighbours cars too). Luckily nobody was hurt.
My question is about insurance- I have been told they can refuse to insure again due to 3 or more accidents/claims. Can I check if this applies if the other party’s insurance covers it? Or is it just all claims?
I feel a bit worried given this accident was in no way my fault
Thanks

Hi @Tiredmum42. I haven't dealt with Motability insurance personally so I'm unsure as to what their policy is. Having looked at their website I couldn't find anything that put a limit on the number of claims you can have before being refused insurance. Car insurers can refuse to insure you if you have made numerous claims in a short space of time, however, there is no set limit. I would advise you contact Motability directly so they can give you a direct answer.

whilst i'm not on motability, i'd assume it's 3 or more fault claims as it's not your fault when someone else is liable.
