My son is doing masters degree. He has loan which pays tuition fees then he has only about £30 a week. So apparently if you dont claim universal credit prior to course, you cant claim it. So hes on highest PIP and has personal assistants and study skills tutors from DSA. What can he claim? It seems ridiculous that Students with disabilities can stay on UC but cant make a claim if the course has started??? What is he suppose to live on?

If this is advanced education, is there any reason why he didn't apply for a maintenance loan as well as tuition fees?
