Disabled Facilities Grant can you please advise me

OK, I am having serious probems with the Disabled Facilities Grant. We have been given one and work will be starting in the next couple of months but trying to get the info i need has become a huge headahce.
There is a huge chance that in five years time due to my health that we would have to move into a new property and they know this. I know that if you are in your property for more than ten years then you don't have to pay anything back. But, I am trying to find out this information. The grant is £30,000 and they have had to get extra funding because it has gone over.
What I am trying to find out is, if we move in five years what do we have to pay back. There is a 60% chance of this happening. I have asked this question again and again and they keep saying they will come back to me. And I am chasing them all the time and get the same answer. So, I am hoping someone on here may know the answer, and why no one at the council seem to know the answer or if they do then why are they not sharing it with me.

It's 5 years, not 10 years. Therefore if you move house after those 5 years, you'll be fine. See link.
To get a grant, you or someone else living in the house must:
- be disabled
- intend to live in the property during the grant period (usually 5 years but this can be shorter, for example, if the person is terminally ill)

Thank you. I was told by the council ten years. I am finding the info hard to come by. I have been asking them the same two questions for months and that is, if i was forced to move in two years tim and five years time then what would i need to pay back. They keep saying they will come back to me but they have not. This is frustrating. I do not understand why it is so difficult for them to answer the question

Well finaly got details today. I was told it would be ten years. If we moved before ten years then we would have to pay £10,000. At least I know now. Did look at other councils and they said five.

I don't know why they are telling you 10 years because it's 5 years.

I need to see the contract when it comes. I have looked into what you have said and you are right, so surely my council cannot say that it is ten years when it is five years. they cannot have their own rules.
