Payment

Hi all
I have posted previously but I had forgotten to say my husbands gross pay was over £8000. My husband was dismissed on 24th September for capability due to my care needs. His final payment was as pictured but after Deductions he took home £4,190. We have no idea what unpaid hours are, he was paid some company pay for around 6 months, apparently he was paid in advance so they took these hours off his final payment. Someone said that these hours pay be considered a third party payment and not show up when Universal credit get the pay from hrmc. Could anyone please advise how this will affect our universal credit and for how long? Our payment is the 14th every month. Thank you

Hey @emj9998, is that what the company said when asked about the deductions? Do you have that in writing and the exact time they claim he was paid in advance? How much was he paid in advance? 200 hours is a lot to work in a single month. Did he normally work 50 hour weeks?
Also, around his dismissal, they say it's due to capability. Is it because he cannot work as many hours due to your care needs? I know he has already been dismissed, but how long did he work there for previously?
You can tell Universal Credit what he earned and show them this payslip as evidence if you are concerned.

Hi Jim Many thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. My husband was off work caring for me for around 6 months, during this time his company paid some of his salary. He worked for the company for 25 years, dismissal was amicable due to the carers role he had to take on. He worked around 47 hours a week I have just checked on the HRMC website and have posted a picture of his last payment, his workplace must have deducted the hours

We don't know where 200 hours unpaid came from but assume the payment is correct. I don't know if Universal credit will be based on the earnings reported to HRMC or include the hours that were deducted. His final payment after tax and national insurance was £4,194 paid on 24th October. We don't know if this affects more than one universal credit payment. Kind regards Emma

If he doesn't know where the 200 unpaid hours came from then he needs to contact his employer. The £4,100 net earnings will only affect 1 months UC, which will reduce it to zero. The advice you were given regarding this on your other thread is correct.

Hello @emj9998. As @poppy123456 has said, it should only be the 1 month's of UC that will be affected and they use the figure reported to HMRC.
