From full to part time due to disability
Hi there
I am currently working full time but struggling. So looking at part time at 18.5 hours.
I have multiple sclerosis, ileostomy, chronic back pain, post thrombotic syndrome and few others.
I am struggling with full time
I claim pip.
My wife earns around 1500 per month and I've done a "entitled too" and says I can not claim anything else (due to wife's earnings).
Just checking if this is correct? Of course going part time we would have to tighten our belts, but we could not survive on her wages alone.
And of course do not to make myself struggle more than I already do.

For means tested benefits, yes this correct.
You could look at claiming New Style ESA which as a contribution based benefit is not impacted by your wife's earnings.
There are limits on work with ESA- you'd need to work 16 hours or less & wages less than Β£183.50.

It looks like Kimmy has already given you the information you need, but just to add to that, have you spoken to your manager about possible reasonable adjustments, to make work a bit easier for you?

Thank you, the have already made some adjustments, working sy home 2 days a week and parking outside the building. I'm still having troubles π

Even if you reduced your hours to 18.5/week, there would be no entitlement to New style ESA due to working more than 16 hours/week.
Have you looked into claiming PIP, it's a disability benefit which isn't means tested.
