lcwra/carers/tp

My wife has just done her hour phone call for LCWRA. Seeing mixed msgs about how this can affect your claim.
She's disabled and I get carers allowance for looking after her. We get TP and Carers Element too.
Unsure now what we could get and what will be taken away from the UC claim.
If/when LCWRA gets added - what will be affected?

Once a decision is made on the work capability assessment if she's found to have LCWRA the extra money is paid from the 4th month after she provided her first fit note.
LCWRA is £416.19/month. However because your UC includes Transitional Protection (TP) this will erode completely due to the additional element. Therefore you'll only be better off by £220.72/month.
To confirm.. the TP will reduce to zero and the LCWRA element will be included.

Carers Element stays?

Yes, because it's in your name.
One person can't have LCWRA & Carers Element together. But two people in a joint claim can have one each.
