Advice on PIP application process - should I have got a text by now?
Hello, I'm new here and I'm looking for a bit of advice and reassurance about my application for PIP.
I have OCD and anxiety and I had my telephone assessment on the 12th November (last week)
I have been seeing that people usually receive a text within a few days following their assessment to say that the DWP has received the report.
I haven't had any texts or heard anything yet and I'm very anxious as to why this might be.
I'm new to this and I was extremely anxious on the call to the point of crying and feeling like I said everything wrong.
I'm just wondering if me not receiving the text means there's been a problem?
I would be very grateful for any help as I'm worrying so much about it and feel like I've done something wrong in the assessment.
My OCD makes me overthink chronically so it may be just that but seeing that people usually receive a text within a few days is making me think the worst.
Thank you in advance
Lulu

It can sometimes take a while for the report to reach DWP, but you can call and ask for a copy of the report. If they haven't received it yet, they will say so.
When I first applied, I waited weeks for any news. I then got a call to say I had to do another assessment. I later did an SAR which revealed DWP had not been happy with the report (Too many points) so asked for me to be assessed again.
I ended up with enhanced on both so it didn't do DWP any favours trying to get a lower score on the report.0 -
Hi @Lulubear, welcome to the community. Some people do receive a text within a few days but others don't, it can vary a lot from case to case. It doesn't necessarily mean anything bad has happened if you haven't heard anything by now. I can totally understand how worrying it is to be waiting though, it's not an easy process to go through at all.
If you feel up to it, you could try giving the PIP enquiry line a ring. They might be able to tell you if the report has come in yet.
PIP enquiry line:
Telephone: 0800 121 4433
Textphone: 0800 121 4493Hope you hear back soon 😊

Hi @onlymeagain and @Rosie_Scope
Thank you so much for replying, you've both put my mind at ease a little.
I still haven't heard anything today. I might take the advice if I'm feeling brave enough and try and ring tomorrow.
My main worry is that I came across as though I over exaggerated how I'm affected daily and they might think I'm lying. I know it's probably my irrational thoughts because of my OCD, but I can't help worrying as I've never been through this process before.
Because I got upset on the phone as well, I keep thinking that this is the reason I haven't had a text yet.
It's good to hear that other people have also been in the same situation.
Hoping I hear something soon, I'm so stressed and even wishing I'd never bothered trying to apply at this point.
Thank you for the help, I am very grateful
Lulu
