is this the same thing as the award letter which I can upload to get my National rail card sorted ? Or something slightly different enough to leave me in the Kafka limbo for another week or two ?

When it arrives, I'd definitely try and see if Railcard will accept it as proof 😊

That’s great news. I’m going to say you will need to wait for DWP to put the award in payment before applying for the disabled rail card. It can take up to 8 weeks for this to happen.
