Winter fuel allowance

Hi

Sorry just after some help with the winter fuel allowance.

My wife is older than me and is claiming her pension I've still got 3 years to go but since she retired she has been getting the allowance. Due to our age gap she can't claim pension credit.

But due to my disability I had to stop working 3 years ago and as a couple are recieving a universal credit payment.

I thought that means she is still in titled to get the payment. But we haven't had a letter as usual and its normally been paid around now.

Anylne else have the same issue and have i understood it correctly

Any help would be greatful I'm sure there are a lot of couples like this.

    The qualifying week was 16th to 22nd September. If you received a payment for UC for that period then you'll be entitled to the WFP.

    Very often payment comes before the letter and payments are being made throughout December. On the Gov.uk website it says, if you haven't received a payment or letter by 29th January then you need to contact them. It's only the 1st week of December so still plenty of time left to receive it. See link.

    I've read the web site. So as a couple we recieve universal credot pament not much because they take my wifes pension off.thos has been for the last 3 years so we should then still recieve the payment.

    As long as you received a payment of UC for the period between 16th and 22nd September you'll be entitled. It doesn't matter how small the payment was.

    If you can tell me what date you usually receive your UC each month then I can tell you what assessment period will qualify you for the WFP.

    Its paid 6th of month and we have had a payment every month since june 2022.

    Just normally had the letter by now and worried like everyone else about having less money
